How to Change Password in New Outlook

If you've recently changed your email account password, you'll need to update it in your New Outlook application to continue sending and receiving emails. Follow the steps below to update your credentials in the app.

1. In your New Outlook application, click the Settings icon (gear) at the top right of the window.

2.In the Settings window, select Accounts > Email accounts > Click the Manage button next to your email account.

3. In the account settings screen, scroll down and click on the Repair button.

4. Update the “Password” field with your latest email password.

5. Scroll further down and update the “SMTP Password” field with the same password.

6. Click Continue to save the changes.

Note:

  • If Outlook continues to prompt for password input or fails to connect after updating, try restarting your computer.
    This can help clear any cached credentials that may be causing issues.
  • Please make sure your incoming and outgoing server addresses and port numbers are correct.
